Kanyonga market gets a roof before the short rains
Traders raised half the cost; the ward fund paid the rest, and the roof went up in nine days.
Kanyonga's open-air market has a roof for the first time, after traders and the ward development fund split the KSh 2.4m cost.
The traders' association collected weekly contributions for eight months. The fund approved the rest in October.
Stall holders say the roof means they can stay open on wet afternoons. The market committee plans gutters and a water tank next.
