Council publishes the northern rail extension proposal
The proposal splits the line into two phases and puts four stations in phase one.
The county council has published its proposal for the northern rail extension, ahead of a vote by the full council this week.
Phase one would run 14 km from Mto Mkuu station to Kora Junction, with stops at the hospital, Riverside and Kora market, and a depot at Kora Junction.
Phase two, to Kivuli, would follow once phase one is running. The proposal does not give a date for it.
The document is on the council's notice board at the county hall and can be read at the Mto Mkuu library.
